Since the day PlayStation 4 was released it developed multiple issues we will make it easier for people to understand the issues first so they can determine the kind of repair needed.

The normal behavior of PlayStation 4 when you turn it on is you will hear one beep , the console will light up blue color , it will pulse for few seconds , you will hear couple clicks then the blue light color will turn into white light color and the console will display video to your TV . 1)  The console turns on for less than a second and shuts off almost instantly.

 This most probably indicate a power supply issue , consoles that has bugs will usually suffer that problem so first try to replace the power supply unit and see if that fixes the console if not go to issue number two. If replacing the power supply doesn't fix the problem you are welcome to send it in.

 2)  The console turns on for one to three seconds then shuts off.

 This is a very common issue and it indicates a motherboard failure, two different components if they have bad soldering to the motherboard will cause that problem, the first component is the APU chip which acts as the CPU and graphics card of the console, it is the most common failure and 90% of the time it would be the reason for this issue.

 The second component that if has a soldering issue will cause the same problem is the memory chips, that happens in about 10% of the consoles that suffers that problem, reballing all memory chips will most probably fix the problem but because PS4 has 16 memory chips so reballing all these chips is too much work and cost to be done in one console so in this case a motherboard replacement would be necessary to fix this particular console, diagnosing a memory issue is too hard so to eliminate the APU failure we always reball the APU chip first and if that doesn’t fix the problem then it’s a memory issue.

3)  The PlayStation 4 console powers on fine, goes to the white light, show video on the screen but the video is not clear, has any kind of dashes all over the screen , strange shapes comes out on the screen or any kind of video distortion issue.

 This is usually indicates a defective APU chip and a motherboard transplant will be necessary to fix this console , reballing the APU chip will not change anything of this behavior.

 4)  The PlayStation 4 console will turn on, the blue light will keep pulsing indefinitely and never goes to the white light and no video coms out on the TV.

 Reballing the APU chip will in most cases fix this issue and brings the console back to life and it will be as good as new specially for first generation PS4 consoles.

 5)  The PlayStation 4 console powers on normal and goes to the white light but no video is displayed on TV.

 This is an issue that is related to the HDMI video output components. Two main components can cause the problem, a faulty HDMI port connector, whether its a bad or loose connection, port is damaged inside or has bend pins it is considered physically damaged connector and has to be replaced, we offer a specialized service for that and we don’t use any hand soldering in the process to grantee a perfect factory quality soldering every time.
